If you have a standard 9V DC pedal power supply and want to power more
than
one effects pedal from it, then you need a daisy chain lead. Connect
the male inline socket on this daisy chain (below left) into
your 9 volt DC power supply output lead and the 5 hollow plugs
(below right) into up to five of your effects pedals:-
A .PDF table of Boss pedal currents will be attached to the customer's
despatch email. Use this table as a guide to ensure your power supply
unit's 9 volt DC current is rated above the total of your pedal
currents, and that the total current does not exceed the daisy chain's
maximum load of 1000mA. Look for other manufacturers' pedal current
consumptions at their web sites in each pedal's product specification
page.
The maximum distance between power sockets on parallel
pedals, where
the daisy chain plugs into the top sides of the pedals, is
approximately 7
inches / 180mm (last plug 6 inches / 150mm).
Compatible Pedals
Most small effects pedals are compatible, including models by Boss,
Digitech, Danelectro, Electro-Harmonix, Ibanez, Fulltone, Marshall,
Rocktek, Morley, Dunlop, Guyatone, Crispy Cream, Behringer, Daphon,
Aria, GLX, etc. Basically if the 9v socket on your pedal looks like the
one in the centre of the photo above, then it should fit the daisy
chain nicely. The pedal designs must all have the same polarity socket
- negative tip. Note that Behringer pedals have the power socket
mounted at an awkward spot on the right hand side, so may take up 2
plug lengths (or the cable could maybe be run under each pedal if felt
spacing
pads are used underneath. Or add one of our DC extender cables per
Behringer pedal.)
Many large pedals are also compatible, as are most wah pedals, but due
to size, may restrict your pedal layout and/or the number of pedals
which can be reached by the lead (i.e. you may have to have maybe 2
plug lengths or a DC extender to reach these pedals). Examples of
compatible larger pedals include Boss CE20, DD20, OD20, PW10, RC20XL,
Dunlop Cry Baby, and Morley Bad Horsie.
Digitech Whammys are NOT compatible.
Pro Co Rat pedals are NOT compatible.
We understand that Line 6 Tone Core pedals are not compatible with
daisy chains.
Compatible Power Supplies
The daisy chain is compatible with most manufacturers' mains AC to 9
volt DC power supplies having a 2.1mm 9V DC plug. It definitely
supports the following
power supplies:
Dunlop DCB10 DC-Brick power supplies are NOT compatible
.
